Halifax Regional Council has appointed a new Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) of the Halifax Regional Municipality.
Marnie Cluckie will assume the role on September 23. She will take over from acting CAO Brad Anguish who’s been in the position since Cathy O’Toole retired in October.
The city says she joins the team from the City of Hamilton where she currently serves as City Manager.
Cluckie has served as CAO for Niagara-on-the-Lake and held other senior leadership positions with Halton Regoin, Halton Community Housing Corporation, Niagara Region and the City of Hamilton.
Mayor Andy Fillmore congratulates Cluckie on her appointment and welcomes her to HRM.
“With extensive experience leading complex municipal operations and a strong track record of driving transformation, she brings the expertise to help guide our region through a period of continued growth while ensuring residents continue receiving the high-quality services they expect and deserve,” says Fillmore in a statement.
Cluckie says she is honoured and grateful to the mayor and council for their confidence.
“This is a vibrant municipality with real momentum and an exciting future,” says Cluckie in a statement. “I look forward to working with Regional Council, municipal employees, community partners and residents to listen, learn and support the work underway.”
