- Tired?
- Foggy?
- Lethargic?
- Emotionally drained?
It could just be a case of the “Tuesdays”…OR…you could be experiencing an ECLIPSE HANGOVER!
First, a caveat… Science shows that a solar or lunar eclipse does not directly cause physical tiredness. HOWEVER, science also says that a Full Moon’s gravitational pull has no effect on the water in the human body! So, SCIENCE cannot confirm that the moon, and all her whimsical ways, affects human behaviour.
But ask just ask a Nurse or a Teacher how they know when it’s a Full Moon, and they will tell you just how much it seems to cause the crazy to come out in all of us.
This wouldn’t be the first time we noticed a general post-eclipse exhaustion.
After Eclipses in March and April 2024, the term Eclipse Hangover began trending on Tiktok.
So, what IS an eclipse hangover and why does it happen?
In astrology, eclipses are thought to bring forward revelations and truth; they cause us to reassess the path that we’re currently on, and maybe make some changes.
But the action of facing truth, and reassessing life choices is EXHAUSTING! It’s like doing a cosmic crash course on yourself.
So, if you are feeling a bit off, a bit tired, a bit ‘out of it’, here is what you can do to help:
Practice self-care: whatever that means for you – but DON’T fall into the trap of ‘getting tasks done’ as self-care. It may lighten your mental load, but it wont give you the rest you need.
Stay hydrated: A good idea at the best of times, but since we’re talking about the moon and what it does to water, it is even more crucial.
Rest: DO IT! I know it’s hard. Try to take it easy, and don’t overextend yourself for the next few weeks.
And keep in mind: There is another eclipse just around the corner, the end of August, so it may be a bit before we feel back to ourselves.
