Blood Donation # 45 Is In The Books

I recently made another O negative blood donation at Canadian Blood Services on Bayers Road here in Halifax.

This one for my fellow Leafs fan and Caper Halifax buddy Dave who is fighting his cancer battle like Wendel Clark and Jody Shelley!

Cancer patients depend on blood transfusions during their battles.

Did you know that only 7% of Canadians share this O negative blood type that is the universal type of blood for all those that need transfusions.

Donating the 500 ml or one pint of blood can help save up to three lives and it only takes less than an hour.

I did it in a time of 6:38, my record is 5:00.

This year Canadian Blood Services needs up to 100,000 new donors and Fall is always a critical time for donations.

You can do your part and be a lifesaver by making an appointment here.

Thanks!

-Ian – a proud blood donor.
