Braves take World Series for first time in 26 years

The Braves have done it.

They’re World Series champions for the first time since 1995.

Atlanta emerged the winner after blanking Houston 7-nothing in Game 6 to take the series 4-2. They claimed the title at Houston’s Minute Maid Park.

Max Fried threw 6 shutout innings.

Jorge Soler backed him up with a massive three-run homer against the Astros.

The projection by Statcast says it travelled 446 feet.

Soler was named World Series MVP.

Freddie Freeman hit an RBI double along with a solo home run off Ryne Stanek in the seventh to clinch the game.

Freeman is a five-time All-Star and 2020 National League MVP. He was drafted by the Braves in 2007, spending his career with Atlanta.

This could have been his last bat with the team as he enters the free-agent market on Thursday.
