We travel back 104 years ago to 1922, when Bell Systems shut down all their switchboards to take a moment to remember Alexander Graham Bell, who had died two days earlier. All 13 million telephones in Canada & the US went silent for one minute in his honour. If you’re travelling to Nova Scotia, you can visit an amazing museum in Baddeck where Bell resided, which is located in Cape Breton NS where you can learn about Alexander Graham Bell’s life and all his amazing inventions including the telephone.
In music we go back 39 years ago to 1987, when the soundtrack to “Dirty Dancing” was released.
In Sports we go back 19 years to 2007, when Barry Bonds hit his 755th home run to tie Hank Aaron’s home run record. Bonds broke the record 3 days later and Bonds 756th ball is in the Baseball Hall of Fame. Barry Bonds retired with 762 career home runs.
