What happened on this day in History:
We go back to the year 1802, the First Comic Book was published, in Hudson, New York. Titled “The Wasp” and created by Robert Rusticoat.
On this day in music, we go back 58 years to 1968, when The Yardbirds performed their final concert. Their break up was three years after Eric Clapton quit and eight months after Jeff Beck quit the group. Guitarist Jimmy Page had to fulfill concert obligations so he formed a new group and called it The New Yardbirds. Keith Moon said, “It’ll probably go over like a lead zeppelin.” Dun dun dun…Page changed the name of his group to, yes you guessed right, Led Zeppelin!
Funny thing, fast forward to this day, 1980, Led Zeppelin played their final show with John Bonham.
A sad piece in history, on this day, 21 years ago, in 2005, terrorists set off the London Bombings. There were four explosions throughout their transportation network with three on the London Underground and one on a bus. The bombings caused over 50 deaths and more than 700 injuries. 🙁
In movies, for Spiderman lovers, it was nine years ago, in 2017, “Spider-Man: Homecoming” was in theatres, starring Tom Holland, Michael Keaton, and Zendaya.
