UPDATE: Crash closed section of Beaverbank Rd, knocked out power

UPDATE: RCMP says the road was reopened at 10:55 p.m.

A crash has closed a section of Beaverbank Road.

In a post on social media, just after 9 p.m., Tuesday, RCMP say the road is closed between Sandy Lake and Chesapeake Roads.

If you are travelling from East Hants, there is no alternate route.

In addition, power has been knocked out to the area.

About 2,400 Nova Scotia Power customers are without electricity due to the collision. The utility expects power to be back on by about 10:45 p.m.
