Did NORWAY (unofficially) win THE WORLD CUP?!

So there’s this little thing going on soon…you might have heard of it…

I think it’s called The World Cup?

I guess it’s a big deal💅

SUCH a big deal that they will be showing the FIFA World Cup Final with TSN at select Cineplex on July 19th! So CLICK HERE if you want to know where you can watch in Halifax, and book your tix now.

But, look.. the only thing I know about soccer is that I played midfield in elementary school and, because I was a runner and naturally athletic, I was actually pretty good (even though I had no idea what I was doing except ‘get the ball from the other team and kick it towards their net’).

However… I may have to start brushing up on my tackles and volleys because the Norway’s Team just made me VERY interested in the sport. And it’s all because of their TEAM PICTURE:

While there is obviously historical context to this photo, it was actually inspired by the viral videos of fans supporting Norway with a Viking ship-themed rowing chant:

And now…SOCCER HAS MY ATTENTION!! 👀🥵

I mean, LOOK:

How on earth am I supposed to get ANYTHING done at work when a picture like this EXISTS?!

Okay, I’ll compose myself.

In my defence, it wouldn’t be the first time that ‘Fantasy Fuel‘ brought new fandom to a sport; look at what happened with Heated Rivalry!

But when it comes to soccer, it’s actually considered to be the fastest growing sport in the Country!

Canada will host 13 games during the FIFA World Cup, with six games in Toronto and seven in Vancouver.

Our first game, being played in Toronto, is June 12th JUNE 12 when Canada takes on Bosnia-Herzegovina.

And OBVIOUSLY I will be cheering for Canada, along with the rest of the Country…but I can’t promise that, at least until June 12th, I wont be thinking about this:
