Drug alert issued for fake cocaine being sold in Dartmouth

A warning from health officials to be on the lookout for a drug being sold as cocaine in the Dartmouth area.

Public Health has issued an alert after receiving word from a community-based organization that it’s not the right drug.

They say it’s sold in a small dime baggy and appears to be crushed-up pills, instead of rock or shimmering fine powder.

Officials suspect it’s actually Bupropion, also known as the brand Wellbutrin.

It’s an antidepressant medication that is also used to help people stop smoking.
