Fire on Northumberland ferry cancels N.S. – P.E.I service

A small fire on the MV Northumberland ferry, cancelled service between Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island, Friday morning.

According to a post on social media, Northumberland Ferries says it was in the dishwasher.

Crossings at 7 a.m. and 10 a.m. from Caribou as well as 8:45 a.m. and 11:45 a.m. in Woods Islands were affected.

Sailings are expected to resume later today.
