Firefighters rescue hiker at Halifax park

An injured hiker was rescued from the trails at the Dingle.

According to a social media post from Halifax Professional Fire Fighters, crews responded to Sir Sandford Fleming Park around 3 P.M. Sunday.

Their technical rescue team was activated due to the challenging terrain.

Using a specialized rescue device called a mule litter wheel, 16 fire fighters worked to bring the person to safety and the care of EHS paramedics.

No details were provided on the nature of the hiker’s injuries.
