It’s predicting up to 75 mm could fall, starting Tuesday morning and persisting throughout the day.
Most of the Atlantic coast and parts of central and eastern Nova Scotia are expected to be impacted.
The national weather forecaster warns the rain will be heavy at times and could cause flooding along with the melting snow.
Rainfall warnings are issued when significant precipitation is expected.
Meantime, clean-up efforts continue in Nova Scotia after a weekend storm left an icy trail behind.
Nova Scotia Power crews have been working around the clock to restore outages.
Crews have knocked down the number of customers in the dark to just under 9,000 as of early Monday morning.
Many Nova Scotians lost power for three days, including in Sackville and Beaver Bank where scattered outages remain.

Most of the current outages are now in Antigonish, Bridgewater, and Sydney.
