Halifax Water Asks Residents Not To Swim In Harbour

The city once again doesn’t want you to swim in Halifax Harbour.

Over the weekend, Halifax Water issued another notice to the public saying a failed wastewater pump is causing screened, but untreated wastewater to be released into the harbour.

Crews are continuing to work to fix the problem, but in the meantime, you’re advised to not take part in any recreational activities involving water contact in the harbour until further notice.

There is also an area of the city where you’re being asked to reduce the water they’re flushing and pouring into their drains.
