Hard-shell MACPASS toughing it out a little longer

If you have a hard-shell MACPASS, it turns out you’ll be able to use it a little longer.

Halifax Harbour Bridges (HHB) announced in the spring its plans to fully switch over to the MACPASS sticker by the end of the year.

However, they tell our newsroom that process has been paused.

HHB says it’s because of Premier Tim Houston’s election promise to make the bridges toll free and they are waiting for those details to be worked out.

On their website, Halifax Harbour Bridges says no new deadline has been set at this time.

The original goal to permanently switch to the MACPASS sticker, was December 31.
