Increased traffic delays expected as Cogswell construction enters final phase

Commuters heading in and out of downtown Halifax should brace for increased delays as construction on the Cogswell District project transitions into a new phase.

Effective immediately, Barrington Street will be reduced to one lane in both directions approaching Nora Bernard Street until at least October 28.

This lane reduction is necessary for crews to complete the leg of the roundabout connected to Barrington Street.

The roundabout is anticipated to open by late October or early November.

Following this phase, construction will move to Upper Water Street, continuing to affect traffic flow in the area.
