The Town of Lunenburg has called a special council meeting for Monday evening.
According to a notice from the town, council will meet at 6 p.m. before moving into a closed session to receive legal advice.
The town has not said what legal matter will be discussed.
The meeting comes just days after allegations involving Mayor Jamie Myra and local taxi company SaltWind Transportation sparked discussion in the community.
SaltWind owner Simon Gordon has alleged Myra and members of his group were intoxicated during a late-night pickup and that an argument broke out over transportation arrangements. Gordon has also alleged Myra later made calls that he viewed as attempts to keep the matter from becoming public.
Myra has disputed the company’s version of events, saying he has “a much different version” of what happened. He has declined further comment.
Earlier this week, the Town of Lunenburg confirmed it is investigating the allegations made against the mayor.
However, the town has not indicated what Monday’s legal discussion is about, and it cannot be confirmed that the meeting is related to the allegations involving Myra.
The public portion of the meeting is expected to be brief before council moves into the closed session. The meeting will not be livestreamed.
