The Mounties say a man has been charged after threatening a family at a Nova Scotia campground over a crying baby.

Police were called to the campsite on Highway 2 in Grand Lake at around 11:30 p.m. on Saturday.

They say the 47-year-old Dartmouth man threatened the family after their baby started to cry at a nearby campsite.

Police add the man was intoxicated and arrested.

Peter Aaron Clarke has been charged with uttering threats and failing to follow a probation order.

He was scheduled to appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court on Monday.
