Man charged after fatal September collision in Dartmouth

A 19-year-old man is facing charges after a fatal vehicle collision in Dartmouth in the fall.

Police say it was September 25 around 11:20 p.m. when the car hit a tree on School Street and three people were extracted from the vehicle.

A 19-year-old female passenger was pronounced dead at the scene and a 19-year-old male passenger died in hospital from his injuries.

The driver has been charged with:

• two counts of operating a conveyance impaired causing death
• two counts of operating a conveyance over legal limit causing death
• two counts of dangerous operation of a conveyance causing death, and
• flight from Peace Officer

He is expected to appear in Dartmouth provincial court on February 23.
