Man facing 24 charges related to home improvement fraud

A Halifax man is facing 24 charges after duping people into believing he was going to do some home improvement work.

Police say the man agreed to do work for a number of people but wanted to be paid up front.

After he accepted the e-transfer, he disappeared.

Robert Allan Monk, 50, is scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court at a later date to face charges of:

  • Fraud (x3)
  • Fraud by other means (x3)
  • Fraud by credit card (x2)
  • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000 (x3)
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000 (x3)
  • Breach of probation (x 10)
