Man smashed display case to steal trading cards in Cole Harbour: police

The RCMP are looking for a 50-year-old man after he allegedly smashed a display case at a store in Cole Harbour to steal trading cards.

They got the call Monday around 7 p.m. that a man went into the store and smashed a display case, grabbed trading cards, and threatened a staff member, according to a news release.

He ran away from the store, in the 600 block of Cole Harbour Road, and got into what police believe is a Volkswagen Jetta, a dark-cloured, older model, with black rims and a temporary permit in the window. The vehicle went east on Cole Harbour Road.

Another man was driving at the time, and a woman was in the passenger seat, officers say.

No one was injured.

They describe the suspect as about 50 years old, 5-foot-9, 175 pounds, wearing a red toque, black jacket, jeans, and black shoes.

The investigation continues.
