The Mooseland Road wildfire on the province’s eastern shore, is now under control, according to the Department of Natural Resources (DNR).
In a post on social media Wednesday evening, DNR said this is key milestone in any wildfire.
“Under control means it is the fire is responding well to suppression efforts. It is not expected to grow, but it is still not extinguished.”
The wildfire broke out August 15 forcing more than 100 from their homes for a few days.
It remains at 1,447 hectares in size – about the size of 2,000 football fields.
Now that the fire is under control, DNR says they will no longer provide regular updates.
