Nova Scotia celebrates Cadet Day this Saturday

Cadets and families from across the province are coming together to celebrate on October 3.

Local cadet leaders and youth will join Barbara Adams, Minister of Military Relations at Province House in Halifax to celebrate Cadet day. The event recognizes the positive impact of the cadet program.

They will be holding a flag raising ceremony, as well as a reading of the Sea, Army, Air and Navy League Cadets Day Act.

Other events are set to be held in Truro and Sydney.

“Cadets give young people a place to challenge themselves, make friends and discover what they are capable of,” said Minister Adams. “Whether they are learning about aviation, seamanship, outdoor skills or community service, cadets are building confidence and leadership.”

Currently, Nova Scotia boasts 75 cadet units with approximately 3,000 enrolled youth.
