On Now At The Discovery Centre: HOCKEY: Faster than Ever

Looking for something to do with the kids? Here’s a great idea at The Discovery Centre in Halifax. Can you stop a puck travelling at a hundred miles per hour? Do you know what makes ice slippery? Discover the origins and learn about the science of ice hockey at Discovery Centre’s newest exhibition, HOCKEY: Faster than Ever. Compete for the fastest slap shot or test your air hockey skills in the Hockey Science Lab; get up close and personal with the Stanley Cup; plus tour an outfitted locker room with gear worn by NHL greats like our local Cole Harbour stars Nathan MacKinnon and Sidney Crosby! Some of the Halifax Mooseheads took in the exhibit recently.

Ian Robinson is a lifelong Bluenoser and has been on Nova Scotia radio since 1984. Since 1997, he has been the Public Address Announcer for the Halifax Mooseheads of the QMJHL with over 1,100 games announced, and since 2024, has been the Voice of the Halifax Thunderbirds of the National Lacrosse League in “The Nest.”

Spending time with his wife and two boys is his favourite thing to do.
