Halifax: Police arrest pair after finding “stack” of stolen bank cards

The Mounties say two people are facing charges after a “stack” of bank cards were stolen.

RCMP were called to a vehicle break-in at Laurie Provincial Park in Grand Lake shortly after 9 a.m. on Sunday.

The Mounties say the driver’s side window was smashed and items were stolen, including a GPS.

Police were soon contacted about another vehicle break-in on Waverley Road, and say that car also had its window broken with items like a wallet taken.

They received a third report from a Fall River business that a man and a woman were trying to buy pre-paid VISA cards and lottery tickets with multiple bank cards.

Police located the pair sitting in a white pickup truck and found the bank cards resting on the center console.

They were arrested and are facing the following charges:

  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime under $5,000
  • Mischief under $5,000
  • Theft under $5,000

The man has also been charged with Failing to Comply with a Release Order.
