Two men are dead after a boating incident on Aylesford Lake.
RCMP say five men from Kings County were in a boat on July 1 when two passengers were thrown into the water after surface conditions changed.
Police say a 70-year-old man from Aylesford was found in the water by another boater nearby.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
A search continued for the second man, a 58-year-old from Aylesford.
RCMP say he was found dead on July 2.
The three other men who were in the boat were not hurt.
The search involved RCMP, EHS, fire services, the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre, Valley Ground Search and Rescue and the Civil Air Search and Rescue Association.
RCMP say the police and first responder presence at Aylesford Lake has now ended.
The investigation is ongoing.
“Our thoughts are with both men’s loved ones at this difficult time,” RCMP said in an update.
The incident is one of two fatal boating incidents reported in Nova Scotia around Canada Day.
