The price of gas in Halifax has reached a record high on Friday.
It will now cost you $1.47 to fill up at the pumps.
That’s an increase of more than 3 cents per litre after the weekly setting by the Nova Scotia Utility and Review Board.
Diesel has climbed nearly two cents to $1.44 per litre.
Prices at the pumps are nearing the $1.50 mark across Nova Scotia, with the highest minimum price in Cape Breton at $1.49.
Gas became regulated in 2006.
Since then, the steepest price on record was in April 2014 when the cost at the pumps reached nearly $1.46 cents per litre in Halifax.
Prices have been on the rise in recent weeks thanks to an international energy resource shortage, which has been paired with a surging demand as the global economy tries to emerge from the pandemic.
One of the impacting factors is the price of oil, which pushed $83 a barrel this week.
