Public input wanted on what will go between lanes at MacDonald Bridge

Your input is wanted on the next phase of removing the tolls at the MacDonald Bridge.

Halifax Harbour Bridges says there is now a large, cleared area between the traffic lanes where the toll plaza used to be, and they want ideas on what should go there.

In a news release from HHB, Maintenance Manager Bernard Gardiner says, “We’re looking for fiscally responsible, low-maintenance ideas that bring visual appeal to this central piece of infrastructure.”

“Think clock, fountain or a rock garden – not picnic tables or interactive installations, given the live traffic environment.”

There is a drop in June 18 from 7 to 9 p.m. at HHB headquarters on 125 Wyse Road in Dartmouth, where there will be conversation and snacks.
