Search wraps up after attempted break‑in in Sheet Harbour

Officers have cleared the scene after completing their search for suspects linked to an attempted break‑in at a business in Sheet Harbour.

The RCMP said in a 10:08 p.m. update on Saturday that officers were no longer in the area.

Earlier in the evening, police said two individuals had been safely taken into custody as part of the investigation.

Officers said they were still searching for additional individuals and advised residents to report any suspicious activity in an earlier update posted on social media.

Police had reported in a 3:20 p.m. update that officers remained in the area and that residents could expect to see an increased police presence.

A 12:06 p.m. update said several individuals remained outstanding at that time and asked the public to report any suspicious behaviour.

The Halifax Regional Detachment first reported the incident at 10:48 a.m on Saturday, saying officers were in the area of Harbour View Road and Highway 7 as the investigation began.

Police said throughout the day that there was no threat to public safety.

No details have been released about the business involved.
