Some schools closed, others delayed across Nova Scotia after overnight snow

Winter weather has caused significant disruption across Nova Scotia’s school regions today, leading to a mix of cancellations and delays.

Halifax Regional Centre for Education (HRCE)

Closed schools: Bay View High, Eastern Shore Consolidated, Marine Drive, and Musquodoboit Rural High.
All other HRCE schools are opening two hours late. Buses will run two hours later than normal, lunch and dismissal times remain the same, morning EXCEL programs are cancelled, and all exams scheduled for today are moved to tomorrow.

Strait Regional Centre for Education (SRCE)

All SRCE schools are closed today.
High school assessments scheduled for today will be written tomorrow, February 3.
The Assessment & Evaluation Day for Grades 9–12 is now Wednesday, February 4.

Cape Breton–Victoria Regional Centre for Education (CBVRCE)

All CBVRCE schools are closed today.

Chignecto-Central Regional Centre for Education (CCRCE)

CCRCE, which includes Cumberland County, Colchester County, Pictou County, and East Hants, has closed all schools today due to weather and road conditions.
