Stolen Van Hits Utility Pole in Burnside

A stolen van leaving Kent Building supplies, hit a utility pole in Burnside overnight.

At around 2am police responded to reports of a stolen van leaving the parking lot of the retail store.

The police took off after the van, which did not stop and ended up hitting a utility pole on Windmill rd.

The 40-year-old driver was arrested and taken to hospital with minor injuries and will appear in court at a later date.

Northbound Windmill Rd is reduced to two lanes with the curb lane blocked while the pole is being replaced. Police and Nova Scotia Power remain on scene.

Anyone with information is asked to call police or Crime Stoppers.
