The Halifax Mooseheads Have Signed a New Goalie

Your Halifax Mooseheads have signed goaltender Jack Fichthorn adding an experienced netminder to the Herd’s crease ahead of the upcoming 2026-27 season.

Jack’s a 19-year-old from Darien, Connecticut, and was selected by the Herd the third round, 43rd overall, at the 2026 QMJHL Entry Draft that was held here in Halifax last month in Moose Country at the Scotiabank Centre.

The Mooseheads first preseason game is three weeks from tonight against the Cape Breton Eagles at the RBC Centre in Burnside.

Since 1997, he has been the Public Address Announcer for the Halifax Mooseheads of the QMJHL with over 1,100 games announced, and since 2024, has been the Voice of the Halifax Thunderbirds of the National Lacrosse League in “The Nest.”
