The Halifax Mooseheads Start Their 33rd Season Tonight

Your Halifax Mooseheads begin their 33rd season tonight with a Battle of Nova Scotia in Sydney tonight with the Cape Breton Eagles in Sydney at Centre 200.

The Moose had several key additions in the off season to bolster their already strong lineup from last season, including two new goal tenders Jack Fichthorn and Carson Mertz.

The Herd’s Head Coach Brad MacKenzie says the Moose will be a speedy team both offensively and defensively.

The team will be a top contender in the Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League this season.

The leadership group this season will see Owen Phillips of Hammonds Plains wearing the C again as Captain.

Owen’s fellow former TASA Duck Quinn Kennedy of Tantallon will wear an A, along with Halifax native Danny Walters, and Shawn Carrier rounding out the group.

The Mooseheads Home Opener is tomorrow night, September 19th, here in Moose Country against their rival the Moncton Wildcats.

On a personal note, I’ll be starting my 30th season behind the Mooseheads Microphone and look forward to announcing Game number 1,200 in October. (I started when I was 5…)

See ya at the rink and GO MOOSE GOOOOOO!
