The Newfoundland Regiment Make Their Halifax Debut Tonight

Your Halifax Mooseheads will host the Newfoundland Regiment for the very first time tonight and tomorrow night, October 18th at 7pm for a “Double Herder.”

The Regiment have 5 wins and 5 losses with Halifax holding a 6 win and 3 loss record in this early QMJHL season.

Newfoundland is now the former Acadie-Bathurst Titan team that moved from northern New Brunswick to “The Rock” last summer.

I got a message from my friend Allie in St. John’s, who said “Take care of my Regiment boys this weekend, Ian!”

I asked her what the atmosphere was like in the Mary Brown’s Centre when they play out of, and she said “It’s crazy, and that fans are glad to just have hockey back.”

The QMJHL’s last team there was the St. John’s Fog Devils between 2005 and 2008. Hard to believe that’s 20 years ago.

So it will be a historical weekend here in Moose Country!
