The ‘Phone Free Experience’

Last night’s Bill Burr performance was a ‘Phone Free Experience’ at the Great Outdoors Comedy Festival. When you walked onto the Garrison Grounds, event staff put your phone in this lockable pouch that you couldn’t unlock until the end of the show.

Personally, I didn’t mind being away from my phone for a few hours. In the case that you had to use it, you could go to a station to access it with event staff. Although, my phone did vibrate a few times…and I was left wondering if it was something important, or if was a scammer telling me I owed the CRA $866.90.

Should more venues/artists enforce the ‘Phone Free Experience’ so we can “Live in the moment”?
