This Sunday Is World Blood Donor Day

This is National Blood Donor Week in Canada with World Blood Donor Day this Sunday, June 14th.

Did you know only 2% of Canadians currently donate blood? So there’s 400,000 supporting 4 million Canadians.

Over the next five years need one million new donors to support the need.

Every sixty seconds in our country someone needs blood, and the only way to get it is from donors.

I recently made O negative blood donation number 65 at Canadian Blood Services on Bayers Road, Halifax in memory of my good buddy Dave McNeil who we lost at age 62 after a lengthy brave battle with cancer.

Dave was a huge Wendel Clark/Leafs fan, we went to high school together and our boys grew up playing hockey with TASA.

So please consider a blood donation to help cancer patients.

Appointments can be made at blood.ca

The chips, Cheetos, cookies and drinks are awesome!

Thanks,

Ian
