Pretty cool news: Halifax Mooseheads Assistant Equipment Manager Tyler Long has a book coming out about him, written by his mom, Joanne Long.
It’s called “BIG W TYLER: Winning Where It Matters Most” and will be released in digital format on next Saturday, June 20th, 2026.
Joanne says: “After nearly two years of writing, editing, rewriting, laughing, crying, and reliving thirty years of memories, I’m excited to finally share that:
This book tells the story of my son Tyler, our family’s journey with Down syndrome, and the friendships, community, and sense of belonging that hockey brought into our lives.
It is a story about finding your place in the world, often in ways you never expect.

A story about inclusion, perseverance, friendship, family, and the incredible people who helped shape Tyler’s journey along the way.
As hard as it is to believe, the manuscript is finally complete.
A pre-sale link will be available shortly.
Thank you to everyone who has supported us, encouraged me, shared stories, answered questions, and cheered this project on over the past two years.
I can’t wait to share Tyler’s story with all of you.”
