Armdale Roundabout fully reopens after early morning shooting

The Armdale Roundabout has fully reopened after an early morning shooting.

In a social media post shortly after 6:30 a.m. Friday, they asked people to avoid the area.

As of 9 a.m., police say St. Margarets Bay Road from Fenerty Road to the Armdale Roundabout remains closed to vehicle and pedestrian traffic.

By 12:30 p.m., the roundabout was fully reopened.

However, police say officers remain in the area of Aldrerwood Drive and Birchwood Drive, off of St. Margaret’s Bay Road.

Police report that at about 5:30 a.m. on Friday, officers responded to the 200-300 block of St Margarets Bay Road where a man was suffering from a gunshot wound.

He was taken to hospital with what are believed to be serious injuries.

Investigators believe this was not a random incident and there is not a broad threat to the general public.

Anyone with information is asked to call police.
