What Would You Name the Orca at the Canso Causeway?

The killer whale near the entrance to Cape Breton Island at the Canso Causeway has been the talk of Nova Scotia these days.

Many locals and “come from away” tourists have been stopping by to catch a glimpse of the rare orca visit.

This morning on Country 1035 we asked:

What should we name the orca at the Canso Causeway in Cape Breton? (We hear it’s a male)

Some of your texts included:

Claudia: Jimmy as in Jimmy Rankin.

Sam: Mully after the Mull River Shuffle

Robbie: Moby MacDick

Anna: Canso

Peter texted How about “Cecil”
from the famous Cape Breton summertime review character…

Randy’s choice: Let’s call him John after GENERAL JOHN CABOT TRAIL “down wit da caaaasway”

Ken says: How about Jimmy “Finn” as in local comedian Jimmy Flynn.

Thanks for the great orca names!
