11 year Old Dartmouth Whalers Player Loses Cancer Battle

The Dartmouth Whalers hockey community has heavy hearts this week after the passing Brady Richard who lost his battle with cancer earlier this week.

The Dartmouth Whalers Minor Hockey Association released this statement:

“The Dartmouth Whalers Minor Hockey Association would like to express our sincere condolences to the family, friends and teammates of Brady Richard, who courageously lost his fight against cancer early Monday morning.

Brady loved hockey, both on and off the ice. He loved the Whalers and wore his Whalers jacket with pride. Last season, Brady played for the U11C Huskies and wore #5.

He enjoyed hockey talk and was always making people laugh.

When he wasn’t on the ice, he was playing road hockey with his hockey buds.

He loved Sidney Crosby and was so happy when he was able to meet him. He will always be remembered for his humor, his courageous fight and his positive attitude.”

Last night the Halifax Mooseheads had Brady’s number 5 on their sticks when they played in Gatineau Quebec.

Both my boys Drake and Trent played minor hockey growing up for TASA in Tantallon and I know how tight the hockey community is, so our thoughts are with Brady’s family and all of the players and families of The Dartmouth Whalers Minor Hockey Association.
