Ian Donated Blood for the 50th Time

I did a special O negative blood donation back on Wednesday at Canadian Blood Services on Bayers Road in Halifax, as it was number 50 since 2014.
I made it in a time of 6:10, my record is 4:33 to donate.
My friend Lana and I were in donor chairs side by side and had a “blood race” to see who could beat whose time, and she won in 5:24!
With September being Terry Fox Run month, this one is in memory of Terry and those battling cancer as cancer patients depend on blood donations.
So, with my Memorial High School, Sydney Mines, Cape Breton math, each donation helps three people and with 50 donations, that’s 150 people helped out over the past nine years. I’m now related to a lot of people…
(Above my 50th donation pin to add to the collection.)
The countdown to 100 donations begins November 8th.
Blood, it’s in you to give, make an appointment at blood.ca by clicking HERE.
Thanks a lot!
-Ian
