The Professional Women’s Hockey League Has Begun

Monday was one for the history books, as the Professional Women’s Hockey League played their first game in Toronto! The season opener featured a game between Toronto and New York that was played at the site of the of Maple Leaf Gardens. New York ended up blanking Toronto 4-0, including Halifax’s Jill Saulnier getting a goal for her New York team. The Toronto Roster featured some Nova Scotia content with Stellarton’s Blayre Turnbull, Yarmouth’s Allie Munroe, plus goalie Carly Jackson from Amherst. Also Head Coach Troy Ryan from Spryfield is going to be on the Toronto bench.

Action continues tonight when Ottawa hosts Montreal.
