Over 40 HRM buses back in service in HRM after mechanical issue

More than 40 buses in HRM that service multiple routes were suspended for a couple of hours Thursday evening after a mechanical issue.

Halifax Transit says a wheel came off a transit bus earlier in the day, while it was in service.

An investigation revealed it was due to faulty equipment used to torque the wheels.

The transit service says , out of “an abundance of caution” they took 43 other buses possibly impacted, out of service while they had a mechanic re-torque the wheels.

Buses were then cleared and were back on the roads.
