Man charged with arson following attempted fire in Beaver Bank

A man is facing charges after an attempted arson in Beaver Bank.

On October 3, an incendiary device was thrown towards a home on Sherri Lane. Fortunately, it landed far enough away that the fire did not cause any damage to the house.

RCMP Investigators identified a suspect with help from the public, and he was arrested on October 7 after coming to the RCMP detachment in Lower Sackville.

A search of his home led to the seizure of a cell phone and evidence of flammable material.

He now faces charges of arson, possession of incendiary material, and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

The man appeared in court and remains in custody, with another court appearance to be scheduled.
