Halifax devastates Oshawa in lacrosse home opener

The Halifax Thunderbirds devastated in their season opener against the Oshawa FireWolves at the Scotiabank Centre on Saturday.

They sent the team packing after an 11-2 win.

Goaltender Warren Hill had a record-setting game. According to the Thunderbirds website, he blocked 49 shots and became the second player ever in the National Lacrosse League to allow only two goals in the net during a regular season game.

After a massive start to the season, they will have to keep up that energy when they face the three-time defending champs, the Buffalo Bandits on Dec. 13.
