A service that offers 24-hour mental health support has expanded its reach throughout more of HRM.
The city says CARE-Crisis Assistance and Response – is now available on the peninsula. That is in addition to Dartmouth, Woodlawn and Cole Harbour.
CARE is a community-based mobile response service that provides in-person support for mental health and substance use support in non-emergency situations, when police, fire or EHS may not be the best resource.
Services include:
- calming and de-escalating a crisis;
- developing a safety plan;
- helping someone get to a safe place; and
- connecting people with community supports following the crisis.
The service is delivered through 211, Souls Harbour Rescue Mission and HRM’s Community Safety team.
