A Behind The Scenes Look Inside The Scotiabank Centre Control Room

Ever wonder where the content you see on the big screen at the Halifax Scotiabank Centre comes from?
Whether you are at a Halifax Mooseheads, Halifax Thunderbirds game or taking in curling to the Royal Nova Scotia International Tattoo, anything you see comes from the audio and visual production team of the Scotiabank Centre on The Video Scoreboard.
They are led by long-time director Danny Bursey and his crew of professionals who deliver top notch material for your entertainment pleasure.
The main control room is located in a room that overlooks Duke Street.
During the games as the Halifax Mooseheads Public Address Announcer, I’m on a headset in constant communication with The Video Scoreboard game producer, either Danny or James Tilley, who give me direct cues on when to start talking, so my commercial or promotion matches what’s on the big screen.
Also on the headset are Mooseheads DJ John Siteman and Mooseheads Game Producer Ryan MacDonald who calls the shots. So I have a lot of voices in my head…
There’s a lot of work in planning the content that you see at the games with the goal for you to have a great in game fan experience, even on the Kiss Cam!
