A Nathan MacKinnon Milestone

Ten years ago this week I announced Nathan MacKinnon’s very first QMJHL goal with the Halifax Mooseheads!

It’s hard to believe a decade has passed since Cole Harbour’s star made hockey history here in Moose Country.

For me, I was glad he made that milestone happen here at home and not on the road, it’s certainly one of my favourite goals to have announced over my 24 seasons with the team.

The historical goal was assisted by Darcy Ashley from Alberton, PEI and Dartmouth’s Josh Desmond.

(Left to right: 17 year old Nathan with Ian and his family the night the Halifax Mooseheads won the 2013 President Cup and Nate and Ian at the Jordan Boyd Celebrity Hockey Tournament.)

Las Vegas oddsmakers say the Colorado Avalanche are the favourites to win the Stanley Cup this season, so let’s hope Nate can bring Stanley back home to Nova Scotia!
