Former Mooseheads Captain Signs Deal with the Montreal Canadiens

Some Moose Country news here in the middle of summer, former Halifax Mooseheads Captain and Halifax native Justin Barron has just signed a 2.3-million-dollar, two-year deal with the Montreal Canadiens.

The former Halifax Hawk and Halifax Mac defenseman is now 22 now and was originally drafted by the Colorado Avalanche in 2020 in the first round 25th overall. Congrats, JB!

In other Moose News: former coach Jim Midgley has been hired by Toronto’s Professional Women’s Hockey League team as an assistant coach.

He joins Spryfield’s Troy Ryan who’s the Head Coach for Toronto.

And current Mooseheads forward Lian Kilfoil of Quispamsis, New Brunswick has been named as one of the 22 players named to Team Canada at the Hlinka Gretzky Cup August 5th to the 10th in Edmonton, Alberta.

The Mooseheads Training Camp opens up August 17th with their first exhibition game on Wednesday, August 21st against Cape Breton at the RBC Centre in Burnside.
