A Visit To Victoria Park In Truro

Last weekend we did a hike in Victoria Park in Truro.

When our kids were small, we used to go there on road trips to Cape Breton or New Brunswick for them to take a break from the ride to play in the splash pad and playground, but we never hiked the beautiful trails.

So ironically back on the Victoria Day May long weekend we finally went for a long hour and a half hike in Victoria Park!

The trails suffered quite a bit of damage from Hurricane Fiona last September when it hit Nova Scotia.

Some of the trails are still severely damaged and are closed.

Work crews have been busy rebuilding Jacob’s Ladder that was completely destroyed by Fiona, progress is well underway!

When I was a kid, I used to think this ladder was so BIG!

The waterfalls are a favourite of hikers:

If you get a chance to visit, it’s a really cool spot to go and the lookoff is a highlight too.

Happy hiking!
