Luckily on Saturday night during Lee we had power and I got to watch the 2023 Canadian Country Music Association Awards live in Hamilton, Ontario.
They were hosted by our good friends Jenna and Stu, the Reklaws, who did an awesome job!
One of my favourite parts was when the James Barker Band and Dalton Dover were doing their hit “On The Water” with the stage decorated in a fishing scene. There were a couple of fish and shark mascots who joined them dancing all over the place, who were later revealed at the end of the song as Jenna and Stu!

Congrats to all the winners and to Tim & The Glory Boys who will be in our Hot Country Hangout this Tuesday in the Basement of the Shoe in downtown Halifax on winning Video of the year for “Float” and “Album of the Year!”
Next year’s CCMA’s will be in Edmonton, Halifax last hosted in 2015 and 1982, hope they come back soon!
